Who is responsible for paying for a pre-purchase survey?

The buyer will commission his or her own boat survey and will have to pay for the survey and any associated costs. If the boat is in the water, these are likely to include a haul out fee, which may include a ‘hold in slings’ charge so the hull and gear can be examined before launching again. Or the buyer may decide that they want to keep the boat out of the water once hauled and will pay for associated blocking off /cradle costs and yard fees.
